Releasing Allegiances

We must shift our allegiances from fear to curiosity, from attachment to letting go, from control to trust, and from entitlement to humility.

Angeles Arrien

You have gained all that was meant to be from that connection. At least for now. You have given and you have received. The need to let go does not deny the value of what has been acquired, it is more that the time has come for greater productivity, creativity, abundance and consciousness in your life.

They say that hurt is a feeling to embrace and let it pass because it doesn’t define you. For personal development and character growth, it’s a multifaceted process. In this personal note, I’m going to talk about myself changing over time as a result of the experiences I’ve had with trust and letting go

Letting go of the past has been the most freeing thing I have done yet.

Looking in the mirror today is a very different person than even two years ago. Since then, I have shifted my values and allegiances to accept what is present. What I value most is trust, loyalty, passion, and honesty. But what I have learned is the dependency on others is the highest risk to my life. If something goes slightly wrong or totally wrong, I can choose to close that door and open another door. I have learned to accept the realities of life challenges, stray away from the attractive world of self-pity, and invest in myself with self-care and self-love.

Let It go – Hailee Steinfield

From walking home and talking loads
To seeing shows in evening clothes with you
From nervous touch and getting drunk
To staying up and waking up with you

Now we're sleeping near the edge
Holding something we don't need
All this delusion in our heads
Is gonna bring us to our knees

So come on, let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you, and I'll be me?
Everything that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don't you be you, and I'll be me?
And I'll be me

From throwing clothes across the floor
To teeth and claws and slamming doors at you
If this is all we're living for
Why are we doing it, doing it, doing it anymore?

I used to recognize myself
It's funny how reflections change
When we're becoming something else
I think it's time to walk away

So come on, let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you, and I'll be me?
Everything that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don't you be you, and I'll be me?
And I'll be

Tryna fit your hand inside of mine
When we know it just don't belong
'Cause no force on earth could make it feel right, no no
Tryna push this problem up the hill
When it's just too heavy to hold
I think now's the time to let it slide

So come on, let it go
Just let it be
Why don't you be you, and I'll be me?
Everything that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Let the ashes fall
Forget about me

Everything that's broke
Leave it to the breeze
Why don't you be you, and I'll be me?
And I'll be me
And I'll be me
