It Is Time

Many of us are choosing to honor the feminine in myriads of ways, as for me, I honor it through study of the goddesses.  It is not new, but there has been a resurgence as women seek to work on their soul and one is left wanting when there is not focus on the feminine.  It is as if we have been raised by a single-parent father when we look at society, religions, and cultures.  We seek a mother figure.  I believe there is divine feminine in all of us, sister-friends.  Researching and getting to know more of the goddesses has helped me balance my spirituality.

It comforts my soul to know that within my body there is ancient feminine DNA.  Women are said to have that beginning DNA in our female organs.  When we begin to honor their divine femininity within, we will become more empowered we will walk the walk we were meant to walk, we will stand tall and voice our authentic truths, and will celebrate each other, respect each other, and empower each other.  When we celebrate our inner goddesses, we will celebrate ourselves.  It is time.

It is time for us to use our strengths, our courage, our feminine qualities for the absolute good of each other.  It is time for us to seek those things that balance our spirituality with our physical, intellectual and emotion quadrants of our being.  It is time for us to know our feminine divinity.  It is time for us to reconnect with the Universe and feel her teach and comfort us.  It is time for us to learn how to draw on the Feminine Divinity to borrow more strength and wisdom.  It is time for us to feel the ecstasy of our own femininity.  It is time for us to know the goddesses and who to draw upon to give us what our being needs.  We are suffering and may not even realize it, for want of a mother, a Divine Mother.

We have lived in a world of brothers.  We have lived under control of Patriarchal societies.  We have been taught male-focused materials.  We are bombarded daily with masculine energy.  We have lived with HIS story.  It is time for us to learn of the feminine iconology.  It is time for us to learn and know the feminine stories.  It is time for us to know feminine myths.  It is time for us to tell our own stories.  It is time.

It is time for feminine inspiration, for knowing feminine traits of the Divine Feminine, and for recognizing those stories and traits within each of us.  In the myths are those who have walked before us and we can seek guidance in their stories.  We are Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunties, and we need to share their stories. We need the courage to go against typical cultural and societal ‘rules’ and face our fears and voice what needs voicing. We can find further empowerment by seeking the historical feminine myths and stories.  Find them and use them to help you over rough spots.  Refuse anything misogynistic in any way, in real life, or in social media. Seek even the darker personalities of the goddesses, for perfection is difficult to identify with – we all have shadow sides – we are never alone.  Seek those with stories and teachings on how to heal ourselves through commonality of experiences, expressions and emotions. (Women Who run with Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estés, is a good start – The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, is another favorite classic of mine).

It is time to seek out any way that you have not tried to empower ourselves.  The Elders of ancient times told us, and is still told to us, that it will be women who heal Mother Earth and her inhabitants.  Be one of those.  I am trying hard to be.
