The hungry wolf howls to locate his tribe, to call out that it has found food, to let other tribes know that he is marking this territory. In cold sharp nights, their howl can magnify and we are privileged to hear them if we live in or near their territory. I have been privileged to do so many years.
This is the Cold Moon of Wolf that speaks to strength, agility, intelligence and devotion to its pack. Its song is magic. It is an animal of great medicine.
When the moon is full, it is a great time for releasing things that do not apply to your Present time and to let go of people, places, and things that no longer serve us. Its energy is powerful and so the intentions we make now will serve us well. Being a Cancer Moon, it will be all about emotions and intuition. We need to strengthen our pack, our tribe, and reside in a sense of belonging. Be aware that ancestral memories might come in flashes this moon month.
P.S. And, for those who may not know, my last name, growing up, was Woolf, which goes back to the French name for Wolf, wayyy back. I am proud to carry that name and no wonder I am so drawn to such a magnificent animal.
