The Sign of the Fishes with a Tether: Balance

Today is all about Pisces, the color yellow, and the sign of two fish with a tether between them. Bay Laurel is the plant, the spice, the essence.  All things were spiritual first.  Even the desk I sit at, wood, was once a living tree.  Something of a once-living thing was even in the plastic of the pen and eraser and the lead in my pencil, the hairs on my brushes.

Our true being is spiritual, above all else that we think makes us US.  We, as human Beings, are the last to be created.  We are the least of spiritual importance to all things created before us.  How we have forgotten.  All things were dreamed before they were created…yes, even us.

All were created in the waters before we were made living in this world.  The potential of all living things is incredible and once we serve our purpose, we become something else.  Our body, mind, heart become inactive but our spirit, as with the spirit of all things that once lived, continues.  The energy of the first creation never changes.  When we lose one type of energy, it is replaced by another (sort of explains evolution, methinks).  We were created out of love; the most magnificent, holy, love, and yet we consider swimming in the deep without a thought for all that is below, above, around us as spiritual entities that deserve honor.  Pisces is a symbol that reminds us of our inter-connectedness

The sign of the fish is two fish swimming in opposite directions, connected with a cord.  We are interconnected in such a way by a cord that keeps us from swimming off some wrong way and getting lost in it all.  One fish downwards, the other upwards.  A child, being born, swims from a watery womb into a physical world of air, fire, water, earth.  A swim from one life to the other is merely transition.  When we swim we can dive dep and rise high.  We have swum from waters of the spirit world to waters of earth.  We are born out of waters of spirit and carry that spirt within us as we are mostly made of the salty waters of the womb.

We are tossed out into a world to make decisions and our first decision is about manipulation to be fed, cared for, kept warm, loved.  And as we continue to grow in this world our decisions become more worldly and, sometimes, we forget we are “in-the-process” of becoming something else.  We, very quickly, become someone else and in this process, we begin to forget how sacred and holy we are.  We forget about the tether.

Pisces reminds us that we descend from holy ether, and, in that, we are holy.  We sometimes forget this and we allow people, places, things, to help us forget this.  We can forget our very spiritual essence.  We choose to think less of ourselves.

As we find ourselves living, breathing, being, in this world of matter, we choose to allow ourselves to be denigrated, until many may feel, or occasionally feel, like we are of less consequence than others.  We are not.  Every one of us is the answer to ancestors’ prayers.  We cannot allow this.  We must believe, act, think, react, in our holiest of ways.  It would be an insult to do, think, be, less.

We are the stories of tomorrows.  What stories will be told of us as global beings, as community beings, as family beings, as whole human beings?  The best, the wisest, the loving-est, the kindest, the sacred-est we can be.  It was never expected more of us than right now when so many have forgotten the red thread, the tether, the interconnectedness of all things of creation.  Let’s be that!

Today, make yourself a stew, a brine, a meal with bay leaf and as we eat or sip, or slurp that meal, look at yourself, your clothing, your chair, your table, your utensils, your food, your spices, and remember, there was a living spirit there in some form.  Nothing was not created that was not, first, dreamed by the Creator.

Then, some time during the day, turn to your art journal and create a page around these thoughts.
