Sagittarius: Pendulums

The moon is in the Sagittarius.  Wear a crown (including maybe doing your hair especially nicely or having it done).  Choose a target for today by making your own pendulum. Burn some bayberry smudge/oil and use black as your color of the day as you work on making your own pendulum.

Do you understand about Pendulums?  Our ancestors witched wells with forked trees, with nails attached to binder twine.  We wish on stars, on rainbows, find dimes, see angels in clouds, we throw salt over our shoulder, we nail horsehoes up, we seek fourleaf clover, we pray. We split wishbones, blow out candles.  We wish on falling stars.  We wear charms on bracelets.  We hang lucky charms, dice, medicine, herbs, crystals even in our cars for good luck.  We find a ladybug and see it as good luck.  We see eagles, hawks and watch their actions for symbols of decisions.  We consider numbers lucky (lucky 7, 11 the number of angels, the infinity of the number 8, etc.). We play rock paper scissors.  We do one potato – two potato.  We choose sticks.  We carry stones. We carry lucky rabbit’s foot.  We make dreamcatchers.  We flip coins.  Some women can use a pendulum to know the gender of a baby or even tell if you are pregnant.  (a very old midwives way).   There is no end to our personal good luck type charms or diving answers to inner questions we might have.  A pendulum is another tool for luck and decision-making.

A pendulum can be used to connect to your Higher Self.  A pendulum is made when a small object is connected to the end of a string, a ribbon, a chain, and the bobble at the end can be a pointed piece of wood, wire, stone, glass or metal, or anything else we can imgine to use.  Pendulums are used to add clarity to a situation (perhaps an answe we already knew inside, but need clarification).  It is believed that a pendulum connects to our own energy or to something Higher than that, depending on what you choose to use it for.    When asking for answer to a question, it helps us be more decisive.  It is something that has a point or good end on it and hangs loosely.

The object you choose to hang can be anything glass, wood, metal, plastic, stone…even a cork.  It needs to have some kind of pointed end.  I have even seen keys used, or needles, so your choice.  The good thing about keys or needles is that they already have the hole at the top.

I happened upon a wire ball at a thrift store in their Christmas Decorations.. voila…  And, then, I had a piece of selenite, that broke, and so I have used it by inserting it into the ball.  Notice that there is a tiny bell inside the ball that I left, as well.  Right now I have a piece of soft pliable wire to hang it from but I am going to replace it with a red thread/yarn/string of some kind to reepresent my connection to the Red Thread that symbolizes the connection of the feminine.  Figure out a way to hang your object.

You can decorate up your cord with beads or sequins or whatever you choose… even feathers.  The cord can be any length.. as long as it is not too long for you to hold it high uncomfortably. Waxed thread or cord would last the longest.  Just remember, it needs to swing freely.

Once you have made your pendumlum you need to cleanse it, or should.  It gets rid of any unwanted energy.  I am keeping mine in a little cloth bag for protection once I smudge it or let it sit out under the moonlight on a window sill or outside.  After each use, you cleanse it, as well.

Next, you want to try it out.  Simple yes or no answers work best while you get used to it.  I have included a link on how to use it.

We all have intuition and common sense.  Remember to never go against gut instincts.

Happy pendulum making as you sit under the influence of Sagittarius who will try to thwart all your energetic moves today.  In spite of it, commit to do this.  In spite of rebellion being your first thought, as usual, under this influence, you know you secretly want super powers… you are your own superpower… this is just a tool to help you commit to it.
