How Has This Last Year Changed You?

It is New Moon, the beginning of a new lunar cycle with all the new beginnings that it brings, let alone the changing of season.  It is the time for introspection.  It is the time for deciding on new ways of being who we truly are.  By now, we are recognizing how this year has affected us and how we have been changed by it.  We are body and bone tired of it.

Physically, you may find you need boosts of energy and, yet, at times, you have extra energy – the ebbs and flows.  We are apt to be fumbly and stumbly.  We are hungry but nothing satisfies.  Best to have less guilt about naps you are having and feeling shameful about.  Naps are good during this time when you need one.  As I said, ebbs and flows of energy are going to happen.  You may start a big project and the energy dissipates quickly.  Accept it and be kind to your poor body.

Intellectually, this is the time to start new intention-setting projects, not big energy-using projects.   Make lists because we also have covid brain by now and it will help you focus.  Do not try to make it a huge project.  Just make a quick list of things to do, not to do, things you need to do versus want and wish.  Heck, if you are like me, you do not even know what day it is let alone what you are supposed to do today.  Now is the time of fuzzy wuzzy brain fog magnified because of covid restrictions.

Emotionally, the water in our body is an ocean in itself and it is being pulled so that our emotions are close to the surface.  Now is a time to really nurture self.  It is time for fuzzy socks, cups of chai tea and a good soul-feeding article or book.

Spiritually, we need light in our life.  Candles on this dark night will help, or light a big bonfire.  The days are getting longer and this helps but on this dark night it is good to get lots of light into it.

All in all, this is a good night to reflect, to go deeply an consider how you have changed in each of these quadrants.  How are you really doing?  What can you do to change the way to better health, to think more positively, to feel all the feelings you may have numbed, and to recharge the battery of your soul?  We are in charge every night, may light be upon you!
