Pug Medicine

Who’d have thought it?  There is symbolism attached to the dog breed, Pug.  My girlfriend has two pugs.  They snuff and snort and have some pretty unique sounds to them.  They fight like brothers, for sure.  The symbolisms attached to Pugs are all about change, about admitting you need to change something, and how the universe will aide you to do so.  You need to see what needs changing before you can change it, of course, so awareness at the deepest level below Ego has to take place.

As we deal with a new way of living without knowing how long this chaos will last, means that we have the time to consider our choices in the past and how they have affected our present.  We have time to consider choices we are considering and giving ourself time to consider consequences… and alternatives.

Since we can always see things needing changed in other people, we need to squelch that desire of knowing and turn it inwards.  We cannot let fear rule our decisions, our insights.  We have to be steadfast in moving towards a more spiritual life (do not read this as religious.  It is not the same thing.).  As we consider changing certain things in our lives, we must consider how it will affect others who are near and ear to us.

How are your relationships within your family circle?  Have you made time for play and for sitting quietly with a family member who needs you to sit quietly with them?  Pugs are quick to change their moods and are very good at problem solving.  If you are attached to a pug in some way, then you will have some of the influences of the symbolisms of the pug.  If you have dreamed of a pug, then these symbolisms apply to you for the complete moon cycle.

Instead of feeling “shut in”, feel blessed that life has slowed down and those changes are a good thing.  Yes, we are being told to become isolationist and for some. (hand raised) that is really difficult.  Somehow, staying positive and purposeful and at ease, through this all, is to accept things as they are.  There is Pug Medicine in this.

Stop and consider the many changes in your life time, that has required of you to change.  My life is full of such times.  I did not often make those changes without huge chaos, great sorrow, or other life-changing circumstances.  Those were the hardest Pug lessons.

Know that the Pug requires of us that changes will happen, with or without you.

**I seldom do animals, but, my best friend’s older Pug was in dire trouble a couple of weeks ago.  Bax is very old and on his last Pug legs.  I wanted to do something special for Christmas for her.  Suddenly, her Pug came to mind and I gave it a go.  It became a good study in lights and darks.

  1. I know I've been doing a lot of self reflection these days. Trying to focus more on what I can do different now than on past decisions. It is a progressive journey. Need now to find the motivation to put it into action. Thank you for this wonderful post.

    1. You are welcome. Yes, we can find this time of weird living, that it is easy to procrastinate because.. yes, we can get done tomorrow what we do not do today. Except this life choices thing. I need to come out of this running, so I do try to keep at keeping at things. Change is hard for me and I am a slow learner. Gulp[. It is progressive and I cannot take the chance I will be a procrastinator when all this is over... it will be over, right? another gulp!
