Friday's Child

In 75 years, so much happened in the world…never mind that a baby was born, a Friday’s Child, and hidden in the world from her father and ended up being adopted by the most wonderful couple and being given the greatest of opportunities.  I have come full circle with being “found” by my maternal family in 2007 and then last year being “found” by my paternal family.  I was adopted into a family of 12.  I have 12 maternal siblings.  I have five paternal siblings.  I have a full brother who proved that blood is a strong, deeply, and quickly formed bond.  I am a blessed sister.

I grew up in a time of the Cold War, and we were taught, in school, how to get under desks and there was a background worry about being attacked by Russia.  The US put missile bank in North Western Canada so we were all aware that there was something to worry about.  I, for one, had a recurring dream of being in a war and being found by the enemy because someone betrayed me.  I still have those, occasionally, and I know that betrayal would be part of my life.

It has been a full life;  lots of adventure, lots of heartbreak, lots of creativity, and lots of miracles.  It has been a “gooder”.  I love who I am now.  I continue to be a lifelong learner and a life full of passions.

Friday’s Child is a loving and giving person, and that is surely true in my life.  This song, by Van Morrison, says it all:

From the North
To the South,
Ya' walked all the way.
Ya' know ya' left your,
Left your home
For good to stay,
While ya' built all,
All of your castles
In the sun,
And I watched ya' knock 'em down,
Knock 'em down, each and every one.
Whoa-oh, Friday's child
Ya' can't stop now.
No.
Whoa-oh, Friday's child
Ya' can't stop now.

And I watched you
'Fore you 'came too ol' (??)
And I tol' ya'
A long time before ya' ever came to be told,
"You've got somethin'
That they all want to know.
You gotta hold on
And never ever let go."
Whoa-oh, Friday's child
Ya' can't stop now.
No, no.
Whoa-oh, Friday's child
Ya' cannot stop now,
Ya' can't stop.

There ya' go,
There ya' go, rainbows hangin' around your feet,
And you're makin' out,
You're makin' out with everyone that you meet.
Even havin' a ball
And stayin' up late,
And watched the sun come up
'round Nottinghill Gate.
Whoa-oh, Friday's child
Ya' can't stop now.
No, no.
Whoa-oh, Friday's child
Ya' cannot stop.
You're drivin'.
Aaowwh,
No no no no no no no no no,
Ya' cannot stop now.
You're too much.
Ya' can't stop, ya' can't stop, ya' can't stop, can't stop, no.
