Penguin huddle. They are known for being loyal, for devotion, for elegance, for adaptability, for unity and are warm friendly social beings who are strong in community. They are unique and live how they are with no apologies. They align themselves with the oceanic waters. They are aware that others need them to survive. They are well aware that they are just part of a whole in order to survive. They heavily rely on each other. They have boundaries and follow their inner compass. They are patient and take horrible winter storms by huddling together aware of how important community is to them. They let hope and community be their reason for existence. Women can take great lessons from them.
Women need community to thrive, as well. We need a safe group, and empowering group, a group that teaches and learns, a support group. We, women, need to create harmony. Alone, we do have power but together we have impact. We need mentors with whom to gain insight and advice.
As we develop our ‘tribe’/community, we strive to get to know each other better and make allies. We need to use each other to be lifelong learners. Having a community helps us build trust, allows us to be vulnerable, learn to reach out and accept help. We need people who challenge us, who applaud our progressions, who are confident in us.
As the penguin teaches us, all things are not totally black and white. We all need community to function in healthy ways. We must strengthen our bonds to create hope and support.
Let us build this community of women in A Little Goddess In All into something even better, even more empowering, even more creative, even more supportive. We can do this. We are a tribe.
