Full of Longing: For Barbara G.
like a flower cloud crushed by pewter sky
that tucks rolls her precious petals
before timid trail of trellis to reach for sun
she craves
i am
spider woman dragging a bulbous body
full of yellow yolk beads battering
against thin-skinned division between
out and in
she craves
i am
woman walking prayer circles of widow’s walk
waiting wishing for wink of returning boat
listening leaning into surging sea for sounds of oars
she craves
i am
angry woman full of fight and flight
thickening tongue hands full of paint and passion
releasing tension and trauma putting down her pen
and pushing away her paint brush to gain last answers
she is
they are
i am
we are
that full of longing
