Hunting Opal

On Saturday, I joined and went on a field trip with the Vernon/Armstrong Lapidary Club.  I have waited for months to be home and to have the time and health to do the walking and the strenuous work that collecting any gems can take.  I can now say, I have done it and there are more field trips to different gem grounds coming up.  I am sore and full of energy from being able to do it again.  It is almost a special ceremony to do this this weekend as I near the time of my broken heart.

This is an auspicious time to be doing this.  August 27th is the day my world died.  We had collected for years, in the mountains around ma, Arizona.  It was or passion and we spent months riding the sharp edges of the desert mountains to get to new areas to collect.

We were taken to a private claim and let loose on several veins of Opal.

Opal has many healing potentials.  Opal, being translucent, absorbs and reflects light therefore allows for deep examination and transformation should you require it.  Who doesn’t?  It is said that it picks up on feelings, desires, and it magnifies buried emotions and will allow for you to know them and heal them.  Of course, it may magnify some of your negative emotions, as well, and it may cause you to do some hard work to transform them.  Either way, it reminds us that what we do returns to us.  Opal is used for help in manifesting and visioning.

Opal can be white, pink, black beige, blue yellow, brown, orange, red, green and/or purple.  All colors are great for soothing depression, for easing stress, for help to stop worry and obsessing over things we cannot change nor predict.  It is also good to hold and meditate on before retiring for the night in order to keep falling to sleep pleasant and dreams gentle.

Opal is a good protection stone to wear on your person.  If you know you might be around negative people, or a negative experience, then make sure you carry an opal.  It can also help you overcome fears.

It, also, helps you connect to The Mother Goddess in her pure seductive ways…to Eve, as it were.  It can help you when working with Mother Earth, in replenishing, reenergizing, repairing.

When you feel like you are not as compassionate, as giving, as serving as you would like to be, or should be, it is a good stone to use to work with.  Each color has its own properties.  Black opal is the strongest to use for healers. The commoner colors of opal, such as I have collected, are gentle and nurturing emotional support.  It helps to softly take you to higher consciousness of calmness, centeredness, balanced, lovely places to be.  For those who understand and follow spiritual angelic ways, it is said that these stones attract angelic beings and are very good stones to place on your altar when mediating.

If any of you desire some opal, I will gift one to the first ten who ask for some.  Contact me via message with your request and your address.
