October's Hecate Month

Convergence of energy is abound this month.  Your energy level will be heightened.  And, of course, too much energy can create problems because we unconsciously think everyone’s energy should be the same.  Your patience may be thin for others.    October’s Moon time is known for Lust; desires of all kinds, an eagerness, and we might forget that everyone has their own desires.  When we seek things, we may go full bore, and then lose interest when it does not happen immediately.  There is definitely magic in the air. Hecate reigns as the keeper of the keys of the Universe and the torch carrier. She is a powerful source for change in our lives.  Find your darkness, know it, change it/release it.

Hecate is multicultural/inter-tribal, and helps us adapt to changes and the knowing of protocols for different cultures.   She helps us know what to keep of the past and what to let go of.  She is especially good at releasing the negative, releasing ‘clingers-oners’ that impede our spiritual progress.

Wear silver and gold.  Draw near to the dog (loyalty), the deer(gentleness) and the snake (represents change).  Bring in branches of Laurel and a rose bush.  Do work on releasing our past.  Change your altar or altar space:

Selenite

3 candles (black/white/red)

3 keys set on altar so they replicate a triangle

2 bay leaves (write one word defining something you need to release

Dried rose petals for roses are inviting to her

a clove of garlic to help draw into itself, the negativity around you

Optional art that you have done for Hecate or a book

At the end of the month, burn the bay leaves you wrote the one word for something you were releasing.    Finish burning off all the three candles.  Do not blow out or cap to stop the flame.  While they burn, really focus on what you are releasing.

I love this part of the goddesses; the sense of requesting help from a loving higher being.  I love the little ritual of setting up the altar and lighting a candle for the goddess of the month.  It is me doing the asking and staying focused and wht will be, will be.
